Happy Holidays

Mele Kalikimaka!

That's Hawaiian for "Merry Christmas."

This season has been filled with love and aloha as our family celebrated the Christmas holiday of Jesus' birth. It was a splendid time of gathering together to show each other our love, eat together and enjoy holiday music and laughter, not to mention the candies and cupcakes! Those were definitely a hit as well, and not only to my waist line! Gifts were given and love was received, it was a very special time! Only coming once per year, Christmas is a source of joy for us, we practice our unselfishness and generosity by giving gifts and spending time with those we don't see very often. A very special season in deed.

I also want to take some time to highlight the new year: 2011, which is so quickly approaching! With the coming of the New Year, I will be announcing some very special photography deals that you won't want to miss, so be sure to come back next week in 2011 to catch what is happening with Light Art Photography. I will be offering new packages for professional photography sessions, so please come back and check it out. In the meantime, may you and your loved ones enjoy the rest of the holiday season and be safe this New Year's eve!

Aloha and God Bless!

Maria

Special Events

The majority of the above pictures were taken in Nepal at the YWAM 50th Celebration in Kathmandu. Loren Cunningham, founder of YWAM, made a special appearance along with his wife Darlene. It was a special time of celebrating as seen by the native dress, dancing, and outfits.

The picture of the Messianic Jewish Service was taken in Honolulu, Hawaii. The picture depicting Jesus Christ being crucified was taken at a gospel production on the Hawaiian island of Maui. A few others were taken in South Africa during the YWAM corporate gathering, "For Such a Time as This" in 2009.

Buddism

All pictures above were taken in Nepal, except for the one of the monk in yellow at the Thai water festival in Hawaii.

I hope you enjoy the reality that religion is prevalent all over the world. That people were designed to worship, and all people do worship something - or someone. Please take a moment to reflect on what you believe and why you believe it.

Maybe the world could be a better place if we all learned to show respect, love, kindness, and compassion to one another. Love is a choice. We choose to love or not to love. Loving others takes time, energy and effort to put the other before yourself or sacrifice your wants/desires for the other person. Jesus taught about love. Jesus was love and his life was constantly showing people how to love others, unconditionally - whether a leper, a blind man, prostitute or a tax collector - Jesus loves all people and wanted to see them healed and restored to better living...a life full of love and acceptance! well, through these pictures of idols and temple worship, i do not see the idols loving back, or showing us how to live, as they are mere creations from man, mere clay, wood and stone. i know there is a living God and his name is Jesus!

Note to Viewers:
The quality of the pictures on the blog do not accurately portray the real resolution...this is because for web viewing I have re-sized and changed the formatting (smaller resolution, size etc.). This prevents pirates from stealing my work for re-use in promotional or business publications. Thanks for understanding. Every picture is at least 3MB, and can be blown up to approx 55 inches by 35 inches.
